The Kennedy Law Firm is comprised of civil rights lawyers representing adults and children harmed by government officials’ criminal conduct, recklessness and indifference. We represent children physically or sexually abused in foster care and school settings. We represent victims of police misconduct including police shootings, wrongful arrests, excessive use of force, illegal searches, and illegal home entries.

About The Authors

Joseph P. Kennedy is an attorney admitted to practice law in the State of New Mexico. Mr. Kennedy graduated from Temple Law School in Philadelphia in 1985 and was a member of the Temple Law Review. In 1989, Mr. Kennedy moved to New Mexico. Since moving to New Mexico, Mr. Kennedy has focused his practice on representation of plaintiffs in Section 1983 actions.

Shannon L. Kennedy has practiced in the area of Civil Rights and Criminal Defense since her admission to the New Mexico Bar in 1994. Ms. Kennedy is a 1994 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law. Ms. Kennedy has a Masters degree in Latin American Studies and is a Spanish speaker. Ms. Kennedy is a member of the American Association of Justice and the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association.
